VillageMD Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder Clive Fields, MD shares the importance of taking precautions to ensure patients suspected of having COVID-19 do not physically enter a doctor's office. As part of the protocol at the company's Village Medical clinics, patients suspected of having the coronavirus are screened prior to been seen.
"It's kind of an unusual twist of events — your doctor's office is rapidly becoming the safest place that you can go," Fields says. "Patients have actually been screened before they enter, as opposed to emergency rooms or other public events, like the rodeo."
